Along this week, five patients are controlling their disabled arm with their brain.
The experiments are being performed at Hospital General Universitario de Alicante and consist of performing mentally or partially a movement with the upper limb (open and close the hand and also extension and flexion elbow movements), concretely with the arm affected by the injury. Due to their lack of mobility, a system controlled by their own thoughts stimulates the arm muscles causing the movement desired. Moreover, the weak limb is supported by an exoskeleton whilst they perform the tests.A lo largo de esta semana, cinco pacientes están controlando sus brazos discapacitados con la mente.
Los experimentos están siendo realizados en el Hospital General Universitario de Alicante y consisten en realizar mentalmente o parcialmente un movimiento con el tren superior, concrétamente con el brazo afectado por la lesión cerebral (accidente cerebrovascular o traumatismo craneoencefálico). Debido a su falta de movilidad, un sistema controlado mediante sus propios pensamientos les estimula los músculos del brazo para realizar el movimiento deseado. Además, el miembro débil es soportado por un exoesqueleto mientras que están realizando las pruebas.

Els experiments estan sent realitzats a l’Hospital General Universitari d’Alacant i consisteixen en fer mentalment o parcialment un moviment amb el tren superior, concrétamente amb el braç afectat per la lesió cerebral (accident cerebrovascular o traumatisme cranioencefàlic). A causa de la seva falta de mobilitat, un sistema controlat mitjançant els seus propis pensaments els estimula els músculs del braç per a realitzar el moviment desitjat. A més, el membre feble és suportat per un exosquelet mentre que estan realitzant les proves.
